Gender Studies

Gender Studies is an interdisciplinary field that examines the social, cultural, and political constructs of gender and sexuality. It explores how gender identity and roles are shaped by societal norms and power dynamics, as well as the experiences of individuals across a spectrum of gender identities, including male, female, transgender, non-binary, and others. The field draws on theories and methodologies from various disciplines, including sociology, psychology, anthropology, history, and literary studies, to analyze issues such as gender inequality, feminism, masculinity studies, and LGBTQ+ rights. Gender Studies seeks to understand how gender intersects with other social categories like race, class, ethnicity, and sexuality, highlighting the complexities of human experience. It aims to challenge traditional notions of gender and promote social justice by advocating for equity and inclusion.
