Football

Football is a team sport played between two teams, typically consisting of eleven players each. The objective is to score goals by getting a spherical ball into the opposing team’s net using primarily the feet, but players are allowed to use any part of their body except their hands and arms, although goalkeepers are permitted to use their hands within their penalty area.

The game is played on a rectangular field known as a pitch, with goalposts at each end. It is governed by a set of rules known as the Laws of the Game. Football is one of the most popular sports globally and is known for its passionate fan base, major international tournaments such as the FIFA World Cup, and its professional leagues around the world. The sport emphasizes teamwork, strategy, and physical endurance. Variants of football exist, including association football (commonly referred to as soccer in some countries), American football, and rugby football, each with its own specific rules and style of play.
