Italian Serie A

Italian Serie A is the top professional football (soccer) league in Italy, widely regarded as one of the premier football leagues in the world. Established in 1898, it features a competition format in which the best clubs in Italy compete against each other in a series of matches over a season, typically from August to May. The league operates on a system of promotion and relegation with Serie B, the second tier of Italian football. Clubs earn points based on match results—three points for a win, one for a draw, and none for a loss—impacting their position in the league standings. The team with the highest points total at the end of the season is crowned the champion. Serie A is known for its tactical and defensive style of play, as well as its rich history and tradition, producing many renowned players and clubs, such as Juventus, AC Milan, and Inter Milan.
